At Giggle and Grow Preschool we want all children joining us to feel safe, secure, happy and comfortable with our staffing team. As parents it is also just as important that you feel at ease and have confidence in both your child’s wellbeing and your role as an active partner within our setting. At Giggle and Grow we aim to be as flexible as possible with our daily routine to meet each child’s Individual needs.
Our Aims:
- To make the preschool a welcoming space for you and your child
- To create a secure relationship for you and your child within our preschool.
- To make the preschool a place where you and your child can settle in and feel safe, secure and comfortably.
Our Methods:
Before your child starts at Giggle and Grow pre-school we will provide you with the opportunity to visit with your child and meet the staffing team with two settling in sessions. You will be emailed a welcome pack with lots of preschool information and we will also allocate a Key-Person to your child. Your child’s key person will welcome your child during their first sessions and continue providing them with support throughout the settling in process. During your child’s two settling in sessions we expect that you as the parent, carer or close relative, will stay with your child and complete any relevant paperwork with your child’s key person. This gives you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have and share anything specific that may help settle your child.
Younger children may take longer to settle, as will children who have not previously spent time away from home. Children who have had a period of absence for whatever reason may also need you to re-settle them.
When you leave your child, we ask that you say goodbye, fully explain to them that you will be coming back later and let them know when you’ll be back. (Such as saying, ‘Mummy will be back after you eat lunch’.)
We reserve the right not to accept a child into the setting without a parent or carer if the child finds it too distressing to be left with us.
We are committed to working alongside parents to help to get to know everything about their child and tailor a unique learning experience that will help give your child the perfect start.
